Traditional multiple lined facilities have used a
combination of impermeable Geomembranes, Geosynthetics Clay Liners, Geotextiles, Geonets and Sand. The Geonet-Geotextile combination or sand acts as a flow medium to carry
leakage to a drain point. Sand layers often create difficulty in successfully spreading over the Geomembranes and have limited in-plane flow capacity. Geonet-Geotextile
combination provides a restricted flow path under pressure and have a tendency to clog, further reducing the already low permeability.
Hi-DRAIN, however, provides a high
capacity, non-restricted drainage path, is compatible with all commonly used geomembranes as it is manufactured from HDPE; has the same life expectancy as Aquatan’s properly
stabilized HDPE geomembranes, can be engineered to withstand the temperatures generated in leach facilities without losing its properties or ability to drain; its already high
crush strength can be enhanced almost infinitely. If used in conjunction with a Geosynthetic Clay Liner, Hi-DRAIN can provide both drainage and an additional liquid barrier.
Unlike Geonets, Hi-DRAIN is not susceptible to clogging by Bentonite Powder used in conjunction with GCLs. Where required, a Geotextile can be laminated to the
Hi-DRAIN in our manufacturing facility.
